There’s just no frigging point in posting the same gifs, logos, and photo of Aiden Pierce holding a gun at a cool angle. When news starts up again, so will I.

Hmm… so Watch Dogs may be a next gen console game?
I thought those graphics were too pretty for our current consoles. May end up getting it for PC after all.
Edit: Since this game was running on PC, there’s also that chance that the console versions just won’t look as great. Not sure.
Honestly, I wouldn’t count the graphics that far out of the current gen’s capabilities. The only thing I detected that may prove difficult is the not-shit DOF effects (I call them that because usually DOF sucks on today’s consoles), particularly the absolutely beautiful bokeh on the defocusing.
That being said, is it REALLY that much better than say, Arkham City, Killzone 3, Battlefield 3, or Uncharted 3?
The rain’s effect on his coat is no doubt beautiful, but I am almost positive I have seen that in a current gen console game. I am not trying to discredit this game. I have a tumblr dedicated to it, you know. It’s just not the graphics that brought me in even kind of. This game is THE game to me.
The defining piece of art for our time in a literal sense. This is our world. Watch Dogs is only slightly exaggeratory, slightly allegorical. That is what brought me in. I can see someone doing this. Hell, driving down the road the other day I had the thought “once Watch Dogs hits the mainstream, some copycat is going to make an app for themselves that really does this stuff.”
Whether it’s on this current generation or in the next, I truly doubt the graphics will look much different, nor will they be the selling point. Show me that hack menu in a commercial, show what the options do, show how available the city and world is to the player and you have a top seller.
Star Wars 1313? That is a different matter; it looks well beyond amazing - but will it be as good a game as Watch Dogs? No. It will be awesome, no doubt, but not like this.
I honestly just don’t get how the graphics in Watch Dogs blew anyone away. Sure, they are high-end, but they are not groundbreaking. It’s the content itself that broke ground.
I’m a young documentary maker who recently made a film called “The Art of Digital War”. It looks into the issues that ‘Watch Dog’ uses as its main theme.
It’s available here: http://vimeo.com/42628436

I’m very glad this game exists as it will do what I wanted to achieve with my film: helping make people aware of how connected and vulnerable we all are.

That’s awesome. Bring the creativity, especially with things like this - you will have the support of the Dogs.
F YEAH. WE ARE WATCHING.
(reblog guys! lets get it out there!)
Creating epic infographic from answers. SO DO IT.
I do this at least once a day!
“It’s really hard for something to not get leaked, especially right before E3. Everybody’s trolling for any scrap or hint of something. We’ll give ourselves credit. We didn’t transfer a lot of assets around. We were very careful and we were able to keep it a secret.”
Being of the more suspicious ilk, I’m not inclined to believe it was that easy. Ubisoft is a big company, the Watch_Dogs project is now two years in the making, and people talk. The secret was too big and was kept too long. Don’t you SEE!?
Clearly, they kill their staff systematically.
